WELCOME TO CLINIC CROSSROADS

I'm Gail, a licensed occupational therapist and I'm here to bridge a critical gap in the industry for people with mobility impairments. While virtual home assessments are becoming increasingly popular, I've noticed a lack of options specifically tailored to address the unique needs and challenges faced by individuals with disabilities.

That's where I come in. I'm passionate about using my expertise to create accessible and empowering home environments for everyone, regardless of their abilities. Through in-depth virtual assessments, I work collaboratively to understand your individual needs and the specific barriers you encounter in your daily living spaces.

About

My Name is Gail Gabriel

My passion for empowering individuals extends far beyond my 18+ years in healthcare. While raising my two incredible boys alongside my supportive husband for the past nine years, my professional journey has taken me from hands-on patient care to leadership roles and technology consulting. Each experience fueled my desire to see individuals and organizations shine. Witnessing the transformative power of occupational therapy, I optimized care in multi-site settings. Now, I help therapy companies leverage technology for personalized plans and efficiency, earning recognition for "Operational Excellence" and "Breaking Through Barriers." But the greatest reward? Seeing lives improve. This dedication led me to identify a gap: traditional assessments often missed the full picture of home challenges. This ignited my passion for virtual assessments, offering a more comprehensive, client-centered approach.

Virtual Assessment

Through a convenient video call, we'll embark on a virtual tour of your home, designed to assess accessibility, identify safety hazards, and uncover areas ripe for improvement. Here's what you can expect:

Eyes on the details: Using video conferencing to its full potential, I'll virtually "walk" alongside you, observing:

  • Layout and flow: How your space is arranged and how easily you can navigate between different areas.

  • Accessibility issues: Any barriers that might hinder your mobility or daily activities, like narrow doorways, uneven flooring, or inaccessible light switches.

  • Safety hazards: Potential risks like tripping hazards, cluttered walkways, or unstable furniture.

  • Adaptive equipment: How existing equipment is being used and identifying opportunities for improvement or additional support.

Beyond the surface: While we explore, I'll also be asking questions about:

  • Your daily routines: How you use different spaces in your home and any specific challenges you face.

  • Your goals and priorities: What you hope to achieve by improving your home environment.

  • Any existing concerns: Any specific areas you'd like me to focus on or anything you find difficult.

Comprehensive Report

Following our insightful virtual tour, I'll craft a comprehensive report tailored specifically to you and your home. This detailed document will serve as your roadmap to a safer, more accessible, and empowering living space.

Expect to find:

  • A clear picture: A narrative summarizing your current home environment, including strengths, potential barriers, and identified safety hazards.

  • Personalized recommendations: Actionable steps to address your specific needs and goals, from simple modifications like rearranging furniture to suggestions for assistive technology or equipment upgrades.

  • Resource roundup: A curated list of relevant resources, including equipment suppliers, accessibility specialists, and local support groups, to help you implement the recommendations with ease.

  • Visualization tools: Photos, diagrams, or even 3D sketches (depending on your needs) to bring the recommendations to life and visualize your transformed space.

  • Open communication: I'll be available to address any questions or concerns you have about the report and provide further guidance throughout the implementation process.

Remember, this report is just the beginning! We can schedule a follow-up call to discuss the recommendations in detail, prioritize actions, and ensure you feel confident and empowered to create your ideal home environment.
